Bitter-sweet!

Amazing squash was played today by Team USA and the results are bitter AND sweet. The men lost a close 2-1 match to Mexico. Julian Illingworth made mince meat out of Caesar Salazar, and Chris Gordon lost 3-1 to the Pan Am's individual champion, Jorge Balthazar. Todd Harrity lost 3-1 but amazed us all with his retrievals and determination. The men will play Brasil tomorrow for the #3 position.

The women dominated over Mexico. Natalie beat Samantha Teran 3-1 and it was unbelieveably sweet revenge after the individual finals didn't go her way earlier in the week. Olivia beat Nayelly Hernandez, a recent graduate of Trinity College. Since Team USA had already won, we didn't play the third match. The women face Canada in the final, tomorrow at 2pm.

It is down to the wire here in Guatemala. Our journey is almost over. One big team match each, a medal ceremony, a dinner and dancing fete for all players and coaches and we're on our way home. It has all happened so fast! We are still gunning for medals and hope you're thinking good things for us! Go Team! - Hope
